Ons stel al Josie se beste restourante op die proef en pas kosse saam met wyne. Ag, moenie worry oor die dieet en kalorieë nie! Onthou elke nuwe week begin met Maandag. Om ons verjaardag feesgees aan die kook te hou, maak nog ‘n date met pêlle op facebook. Daar's geen goeie verskoning om nie die fees by te woon nie!

 

The Ducktails are feasting on escargot!

duck-snail-ad-generic.jpgMeanwhile, on our farm the Ducktails are noshing snails like there’s no tomorrow. The ducks are part and parcel of our terrific terroir story. Swartskaap is still the best Cabernet Franc in the Walker Bay Cape Agulhas District and both Nr.5 and Bloos derive 100% from our farm in Sondagskloof! If you’re looking for true terroir wines, you’ve just found them. This is as good as it gets. Snails and a chilled glass of Nr.5 anybody?

 

Wines of Hermanus Wine Festival

wfposter.jpgDon’t forget to remember: 24 – 27 September is Whale Festival in Hermanus and on the Saturday we’re hosting another Wine Festival with 26 estates presenting over 120 wines on taste in our cellar’s courtyard. It’s going to be a beeeg one, so make sure to diarize 26.9.10 for a Whale of a Wine Festival. Tell you what: to make sure you get a ticket, call Ilse-Marie at 028 316 1875. Celebrate our 2010 Sauvignon Blancs

pict0858.jpgHip, hip, hooray! Nr.3 and Nr.7 are on their way! To say the 2010 harvest was nerve-wracking is an understatement. However, Bartho and Kim did what they do best: focus on making remarkable wines! As usual, our Sauvignon Blancs will prove to be worth the wait! Charming Adéle is ready to process your orders. Net om  te wys hoe ons witwyne oor tyd verbeter, maak ons nou “vertikale kissies” beskikbaar, bestaande uit 2 elk ’07, ’08 en ’09 van ons verouderde Nr.3 en Nr.7. Dis 'n feit: al ons witwyne het  goeie verouderingsvermoe en kan tot 5 jaar  na die oesjaar geniet word, met die veronderstelling dat die wyne onder ideale omstandighede geberg word. Dis nou uithaal-en-wys-tyd. Bestel sommer hier!

Om ‘n vertikale voorraad van Kleinboet op te bou, skakel Adéle en vra haar mooi, pretty pretty please, om ‘n kissie ’07 te organiseer. A brooch, a homecoming and a curryfest

dsc00115.jpgPierre was very excited when his Mom handed over a family heirloom: a brooch which his great grandfather carved from bone whilst a POW in Ceylon, today known as Sri Lanka. In memory of his Grandad they hosted a lunch for close friends. The fare? A feast of wonderful curries, Sri Lankan and Indian in origin with a touch of Malaysian. Overberg Conservation Foundation

This festival of wild flowers and sustainable lifestyle is one of the highlights on the Hermanus spring calendar and is presented jointly by the OCF and the Hermanus BotanicalSoc. Breath-taking floral displays, designed by Chelsea award winner David Davidson, showcase the floral biodiversity of the area. Hundreds of named specimens will  assist botanical enthusiasts to put a name to a floral face. As Walker Bay's BWI Champion Farm we salute the OCF.

In egte, regte Hermanuspietersfontein staail gooi ons die 1ste September lekker mielies in die vatkelder. Die eregaste vir die aand? 25 van Suid- Afrika se voorste kunstenaars wat in die Overbergstreek woon. Die jol word 11 September om 18h30 op TV3 uitgesaai. Our wines at the Chef's Warehouse

He matched Nr.3 with freshly shucked oysters, chorizo & shalot dressing and Swartskaap went well with pancetta wrapped prawns with crab and spring onion risotto.
